50th  Birthday Card Using the silhouette sd

This card has taken quite a while to do, I have added bits over a whole week. First I have used a white 8 x 8 card blank as a base. The silhoutte has now available patterned papers to download, and the patterned paper I have used was a free download. Using the silhouette software I  drew a 8 x 8 in sqaure and used the fill feature to load the paper, then used the print and cut feature to creat my backing paper.

I distressed round the backing paper and mounted it on the card base. Then still using the silhouette software and using the square as a guide I cut out a 5 and 0 using the outline feature to cut the two sizes and then embossed the top layer with a embossing folder and then used distress ink around the edges.

The little bear was  printed from the forever friends  cd and I cut her out and decoupaged the shawl  along. The bunting was cut from some backing paper and stuck on with 3d pads

To break up the backing paper I used another paper that I had in my stash and used a border punch to make it look like it was from a note book and stamped some lines and distressed the edges.

Country Companions

I couldnt resist the Country Companions CD as I was so pleased with the Me to You one. Here is my first creation.

Again I have printed straight to the card with a topper and sentiment, then I printed the little mouse and cut him out so I could place him on the door stop.

I then used crystal stickles on the flowers and lime green stickles on the leaves.

To finish off I have used glossey accents on his little wellies and the door knocker.

"Me To You"

Hello everyone, Ive been so busy with work and things that I have not had the time to do any card making or blogging or even visiting other blogs. But am back now and Iam looking forward to seeing what everyone has been upto on their blogs. Well I have treat my self to the new "me to you" cd rom from docrafts and its fab the images are beautiful. Here is my first creation.

I have used the a5 folded templete on the cd and added the sentiment and flourish from the embelishments and greetings and then printed straight to my card. Then I printed the pyramage image cut out all the circles, I then cut out a scalloped circle from the "me to you" paper pack and put them together with silicone glue.

I have bejazzled my card with blue and pink rhinestones and added stickles to glitz it up, and rounded the corners with my corner chomper. Finally I used glossy accents on his little nose.

Dale's 21st

Well I carn't believe that the time has come to make my son a card for his 21st birthday, where do the years go. He loves anime and one of his favourites is Dragon Ball z so here is what I made.

For my base I have used a 8"x 8" prescored card and covered it with a yellow paper.
Then I found the image on google images and loaded it into my craft studio, I then copied and pasted the image several times and cropped the areas I wanted to decoupage down to size. I did manage to get all the bits I required on to one sheet of A4. I printed the sheet on textured gloss photo paper, I matted the main image on to holographic mirri card and punched the edges. Then I cut out all the bits for the decoupage and layered then using silican glue.

For the twenty one, I googled dragon ball z font and found one free to download. The font was standard black so I loaded my silhouette software and installed the font and gave it the black shadow and colour the font needed to match the dragon ball z style, this took some time as I had to do each letter one by one. I then used the print and cut feature on the silhouette. I glued the letters straight to the mirri card.

Joanna Sheen Ivory Cats (Lesley Anne Ivory)

Well I've made this card for my sister to wish her congratulations on receiving an award at college, she is on a animal based course and love's cats so I thought this would be purrfect.

I have printed of a topper and the backing paper from ivory cats, there so many to choose from I spent more time looking than making lol. I have used a 8"x8" card and layered the backing paper and topper on some holographic pink mirri card. Then I attached some ribbon before i stuck it to the base and I tied the bow seperate which took me ages even with a bow shaper. For the butterfly I usee a docrafts diemension punch and cut it away from the mirri card and placed it so that the cat is looking at it and added some flat back gems to add bit of glitz.

This photo shows the mirri card off

Quick Cards

Messy Rabbit

These are great stamps for quick cards, as they stamp lovely and don't need much colouring. The card stock is bazzill basic prescored A6 card. The backing paper is from a forever friends papar pack and ribbon and buttons are from my stash. I cut out the rabbit and used foam pads and placed them direct to the card and I just used a corner punch on one corner and stamped a sentiment.

I am really busy with work commitments at present so havent been blogging or crafting as much as I like. So this is a really quick blog before I go on redrotties weekend blog hop.

Thank you for looking.

"Less is More Colour" Week 14 Challenge White on White

This has been a tricky one, but it certainly gets the old grey matter working. I have my cuttlebug and silhouette to thank for this project.

My silhouette was used to cut out I heart u, I used the outlined feature to create a layer. I then embossed the top layer in the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.

For the base card I embossed two lines down the centre and then embossed either side with a heart embossing folder (country companions)

Update: I cut a A6 peice of card to do the embossing on both sides then stuck it to a A6  prescored card

I must admit photographing this card was a big challenge too.

Forever Friends Wedding Card

I Have made this card for the FF challenge over on docrafts,

My cardstock is a craft work scalloped card and my backing paper is from New Edition Spring feast. I have stamp the image on to coordinations card cream of wheat and used water colour pencils to colour the cheeks and noses etc. I then paper pieced the hat and veil.

I am not very good with bows but I wanted to give it a real flowing style and this is my attempt.

I added stickles for a bit of glitz, but it seem to have an effect on the ink I used for the stamp. I chalked around the edges and added some rosed and a sentiment.

The papers are tatty teddy too, the sentiment is from tulip but co-ordinates perfectly.

I coloured him with promarkers cool grey 2 and artic blue for his nose, I used glossy accents to give his nose a little shine. I was'nt to sure what to use for his eyes but in the end I used a black promarker fine liner.

I am dedicating this post to my Mum who I lost 3 years ago today, I miss her more and more as time goes by.

Less is More Challenge week 11 Theme acetate

Well I saw these little monsters on digi stamp boutique today and could not resist them, I thought they would be perfect for the less is more challenge this week. As the theme was acetate I decided to put one of the little monsters behind a acetate window.

I printed my new digi monsters on to card and coloured them with  promarkers, then cut them out.

I used the cuttlebug to cut the aperture in the card stock and again to cut out my acetate window which I stuck with photo glue and then pop a little monster behind. To glue my monster i just glued the edges that would not be seen through the window with the photo glue

I then stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment straight to the card and added some faux stitching around the window to finish.

I used oval nestibilities for the topper and distress the edges with tim holtz antique linen ink. Bella and Oscar have been coloured with promarkers and I used glamour dust to give Bellas dress a bit of glitz.

I have used glossy accents on all the pink bits. Unfortunately the camera has not picked it up. Just to finish the card i have added some flat back pearls and used my silhouette to cut a little corner piece.

Pink Petticoat Sweet Treat Digi Stamp

This weeks challenge at simply less is more  is a touch of red, I thought I would give my new digi stamp from pink petticoat a go.

I have used a poppy red promarker to add a touch of red to the cherries and the little strawberry on this gorgeous digi stamp then I used a quickie glue pen to add a bit of glamour dust

I used a rectangle nestibility to cut and emboss my stamp then i drew around the same shape onto red card and cut it by hand as i only wanted a small border of red to show

I have used a sentiment from a inkadinkado stamp set straight to the card.

Japanese Tilda

Week 98 favourite colour combo

I have been inspired to make this card following the terrible events in Japan. As I was making the card my thoughts were with all the survivors of the quake and tsunami, who now face starting there lives over with the further complications of a possible nuclear meltdown. It make you realise how lucky we are.

I have used Magnolia's Japenese tilda and coloured her with promakers and added glamour dust to give a little sparkle. The papers are V&A Hanoverian linen pack which are beautiful to work with. I distressed with Tim Holtz antique linen. The sketch i used was from the magnolia challenge for last week but I didnt manage to get my card completed in time to enter. But I have entered for this weeks as it is my favourite colour to craft with.

For the doily which is a sakura flower and the circle i used my silhouette sd machine, i then distressed again in antique linen. I stamped around the circle a small leaf in distress ink just to add a little extra definition.

I punched the little flowers from a tiny docraft punch and added a little rhinestone to each one.

Week 6 One Layer Card - "Off the Edge"

I am loving this new blog "Less is more". It is quite hard to keep things simple and too now when to stop adding stuff.

This week its one layer only and off the edge, I have use a inkadinkado stamp set and stamped flowers off the edge of the card, then I stamped the birds off the the edge too. The bird cage is from my silhouette subscription and i used the silhouette print and cut feature to create it. I stuck it down also over the edge of the card and trimmed the excess. I have used aqua promarkers to colour the flowers and the birds. Finally I used a quickie glue pen and glamour dust to add some sparkle to the flowers and stamped a sentiment straight to the page.

Pamperd Pets andrea jayne

I just love these pampered pet stamps from docrafts they are so gorgeous.

For this card I have used the freebie papers that came with the creativity magazine which are from the pampered pets range. I stamped the image on white card and ran it through the cuttlebug to get the embossed circle then stamped again on patteren paper and cut out just the handbag and paper pieced it on. I stamped the image once more on pink paper to decoupage the rose. Using Tim Holtz tattered rose I inked around the circle, then just added some sparkle with pink stickles on the tiara, necklace and clasp. Then with the same paper as the hand bag, I cut a strip for the bottom of the card and drew free hand  lines around twice with a promarker fine writer pen and just stamped a sentiment direct to the paper.

Clean and Simple

Here is something different to what I normally do but its seems to be popular at the moment. I will be entering this card for a challenge  at http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/ Week 3 Theme Challenge.

This loved up  birds on a branch image is from my silhouette sd machine subscription which is a print and cut design. I have placed it on a A6 card landscape and have stamp the sentiment straight to the card.

Again the image is from my silhouette sd machine subscription. This time I added a flat back pearl to the centre of the flower and stamped the sentiment straight to the card

As these card are clean and simple, they were really quick to make so I have made a few of the same design and will use them as notelets.
