Magnolia Challenge Week 63 A Recipe

This Challenge is 3 Flowers 2 papers and 1 ribbon

My Three flowers are prima with  docraft brads. The two papers are from my minds eye quite contrary summer papers, which were FREE in this months Card Making and Papercrafts and finally my 1 ribbon was a docraft brand.  I love this stamp she is so cute I coloured her with promarkers and glitzed her up with some stickles. I have left some space for a sentiment in the bottom right corner.

A couple of quickies

I have not done much crafting just lately as the weather has been lovely and I have been making the most of the sun with days out etc.
So heres just a couple of quick cards using the forever friends cd and some 8"x 8" embossed cards. I wanted to keep it simple with the card stock already being embossed so I just matted the images on coredinations card and added some ribbon and buttons.

Fathers Day Card

Well I thought I would give the Forever Friends cd collection a go for fathers day. I have had this cd since launch and haven't really given it a go,  I always rack my brains when it comes to cards for men so when i found this image on the cd I was really pleased. All the backing papers and the image were printed from the cd, my card is a 8" x 8" and is a really easy size to work with. I just added some ribbon and tied in a knot rather than a bow and my senitiment was cut with my silhouette sd machine

Something Different

Haven't been blogging for a while, but now am back with a something different. I have got a nest of  plain boxes from the do craft range and have decorated them using Paper mania Jesse Edwards hampstead papers. These papers are a linen paper and feel gorgeous and are really easy to co-ordinate. I trimmed the box lid with some cotton lace and for the topper I used my sd silhouette machine to cut the artisan shapes and letters. The butterflies were punched using the do crafts dimension punch and the leaves using an ek punch and the rose is from my stash. Also i distressed the paper edges with Tim holtz tea dye distress ink. To finish it off i popped in some miniature toiletries.

I made this box for my sister and she loves it

Silhouette Machine

Thought I would give Tilda a break, especially now that my pre-ordered ones are not coming. So here's a quick card using my silhouette sd machine. I downloaded the design which is from the silhouette website and cut it on plain white card. Then I inked the base card with Tim Holt's vintage photo, for the first layer and the flower and stem I used  colour box cats eye pigment inks which complement each other lovely. I then just popped a little button from paper mania capsule collection in the centre of my flower. The Stamped sentiment is from penny black.

Penny Black Engagement Card

Well I thought I would give the Magnolia stamps a rest and have used a Penny Black stamp for this Engagment card. I have used the blueberry hill papers again, they are beautiful to work with and are so easy to match up.

I have coloured my image with promakers, Iam not so good with colouring animal images need some practice. I have stamped the sentiment with two different stamps which has worked quite well. Last but not least added some flower embellishments and a splash of stickles.

Silhouette SD

I have invested in this great machine and I think it is fantastic, there is so much you can do. The software is so easy to use all the designs can be resized to suit your requirements. I have so many ideas for it I dont know where to start. My first project  was for my neices 21st Birthday I downloaded the number 21 design from the online store, resized it to 6x6 inches and cut it on some blueberry hill backing paper. I then cut the design again on plain card and layered them together so that the card was sturdy. I stamped and coloured a tilda in promarkers and placed her on the card and added a bow.

New Magnolia Card

Well heres to another Tilda card, and my discovery of stickles. Since my last Blog i have officially turn Forty and its not as bad as I thought it would be, after all its just another number. As it was my birthday the other week my hubby treat me to some more tilda stamps (Yippee). So here is the first one. I have gone with a rose theme using papers from papermania blueberry hill which are gorgeous. I stamped my tilda image and coloured her with promarkers, I then stamped around the edge of my topper with a little rose bud stamp (inkadinkado) with colour box cats eye pigment ink. Then i matted and layered my papers on to my card and inked around the edges. I added my roses with silicon glue. Finally i added crystal stickles around the edges to give my card a gorgeous sparkle.

Magnolia Challenge 45

Well this is my first Magnolia challenge and my first tent card. As it is soon to be Mother's day I have used that as my sentiment which I have stamp on the inside of the tent card. I used K&Co Papers, Tilda holding letter, coloured with promarkers. I stamped the butterflies (from cute companions) and colour them with promarkers and jazzed them up a little with sakura stardust pens. The little daisies on the the scalloped edge was adhesive lace ribbon  which i just cut with scissors and stuck on.
Flower is from my stash and i just added some crafters companion silver spray and sparkle.

Any comments and tips will be gratefully received.

Gorjuss Girls Challenge 15th-28th Feburary

Gorjuss Girl

Gorjuss Girl Challenge 15th - 28th  Feb 2010
Well i do love these stamps, so you will find they will probably appear on my blogg regular.
Backing paper is from K&Company sparkly sweet which i picked up at Hobby Craft,  I used Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges of backing paper and around the stamped image. I used a fiskars punch on a contrasting paper (from the same paper stack)  for a layered edge effect and i distressed this too and added some lovely adhesive lace along the straight edge. I matted and layered my gorjuss girl and coloured her with promarkers, added the lovely roses and some leaves and to just finnish the card off I used some crystal stickles and distress ink on the roses and stamped a flower image in the top left hand  as this was looking a little empty and just stamp a simple sentiment
